Thayer Township is an inactive township in Oregon County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [ 1 ] Thayer Township took its name from the community of Thayer, Missouri .
A post office called Thayer has been in operation since 1884. [5] The community has the name of Nathaniel Thayer, a railroad promoter. [6] Thayer is considered a railroad town, as it was laid out in 1882 to be a division point. At the turn of the 20th century, 400 railroad men lived in Thayer. [7]
It lies 14 mi (23 km) southeast of Alton, 14 mi (23 km) east of Thayer and approximately 3 ⁄ 4 mi (1.2 km) north of the Arkansas state line. The community lies on a low ridge above the south side of Mill Creek along Missouri Route V. [2] Myrtle was laid out in 1878 by Jessie Moore, and named after his daughter Myrtle Moore. [3]

Boylers Mill is an unincorporated community in western Morgan County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1] The community is in Pole Hollow just north of the Big Buffalo Creek. The site is on Missouri Route FF. [2]
Its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 61 in New London and its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 63 on the north side of Thayer. Route 19 is one of Missouri's original 1922 highways, though it initially had a northern terminus at Route 14 (now Interstate 44 ) in Cuba and was later extended north.
