Obelisk of Theodosius is the Ancient Egyptian obelisk of Egyptian King Thutmose III re-erected in the Hippodrome of Constantinople by the Roman emperor Theodosius I in the 4th century AD. The modern Turkish name for the city, İstanbul, derives from the Greek phrase eis tin Polin (εἰς τὴν πόλιν), meaning '(in)to the city'.

[1] It has a terrestrial broadcast licence, and it is also available throughout Turkey via satellite. It airs Indian, Pakistani and Korean dramas. The channel is popular for Indian shows in Turkey such as Bir Garip Ask.

Some ancient settlements which were well documented are known by name, but so far they have not been unearthed and their exact locations are obscure.
