Kentucky Route 80 (KY 80) is a 483.55-mile-long (778.20 km) state highway in the southern part of the U.S. state of Kentucky.The route originates on the state's western border at Columbus in Hickman County and stretches across the southern portion of the state, terminating southeast of Elkhorn City on the Virginia state line.
U.S. Route 27 passes through the city, leading north 35 miles (56 km) to Lexington and south 39 miles (63 km) to Somerset. Kentucky Route 52 crosses US 27 in the center of Lancaster, leading east and northeast 23 miles (37 km) to Richmond , and west 11 miles (18 km) to Danville .
The "barrier breaking" opened up a 7.75-mile (12.47 km) section of road where I-75 and I-64 covered a circle to the north and east of Lexington while an additional 5 miles (8.0 km) of I-75 was also opened in the area.
