According to the United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of 31.2 square miles (81 km 2 ), of which 27.3 square miles (71 km 2 ) is land and 3.9 square miles (10 km 2 ), or 12.49%, is water.
Bloomfield Township is a charter township in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. A northern suburb of Detroit, Bloomfield Township is located roughly 20 miles (32 km) northwest of downtown Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the township had a population of 44,253. [3] Established in 1827, it is the oldest township of Oakland County.
