Quoc Trung first appeared on the 3rd season of Vietnam Idol in 2010. In 2011, Trung founded Thanh Viet Production, a record label and stage production company. Trung produced Uyen Linh's first album, My Own Dream (Giấc Mơ Tôi), released in February 2011.

Đờn ca tài tử (Chữ Hán: 彈 歌 才子) or nhạc tài tử (樂才子) is a genre of chamber music in the traditional music of southern Vietnam. Its instrumentation resembles that of the ca Huế style; additionally, modified versions of the European instruments guitar, violin, and steel guitar are used.

Thanh has spoken about her experience with this issue on many occasions: "One day, I sang the song "Khi Giấc Mơ Về" (When dreams come) at a lounge; there was this prostitute who gave me flowers and cried.
