She is the founder of the National Forum of Women with Disabilities in Pakistan, and a leading figure within the disability rights movement in the country as well as in Asia and the Pacific. She was named as one of the BBC's 100 Women in 2021. [2]

People with disabilities in Pakistan are seen differently than in most Western countries due to cultural and religious beliefs. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (Urdu: ماموریہ برائے انسانی حقوق پاکستان) (HRCP) is an independent, democratic non-profit organisation. Founded in 1987, it is one of the oldest human rights organisations in the country. HRCP is committed to monitoring, protecting and promoting human rights in Pakistan.
