The museum is Polasek's Mediterranean-style retirement home and studio. A lot of the original furnishings are on display. In 1961, Polasek opened his home and studio to the public. The museum is now a member of The Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios (HAHS), an affiliate program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
