The 12 vdc battery is the weakest part of all the Ford Fusion hybrids. It is the most common cause of strange glitches and on the road failures. They are too small and of the wrong type and are frequently damaged in even new cars by sitting on lots. Ford is the only source for them.
I have a 2013 Ford Fusion had to replace battery 2 times I do get message on screen saying battery saver off. I don't drive this everyday maybe once a wk but do start it up. Had to charge it with a charger to many times. Ford said it needs to be driven more that's why thus is happening. Very disappointed with the car I use to enjoy.
(This method should work from 2010-2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid and should work on most likely 2010-2012 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, & 2010-2012 Mercury Milan Hyrbid as well (According to the Ford OASIS from Oct 3, 2019 these are the years affected).
Im looking into buying a 2010 - 2012 FFH (preferably 2012 if I can find one), and if I do then it will be my first time owning a hybrid. I noticed theres a lot of general paranoia online about the reliability of hybrid batteries, and since this is a forum full of people who own and drive the type...
Drove to work, tested locked door, unlocked … thought it was a signal pairing issue with fob… but when I came back to my car at lunch, it was dead. Entered with key, didn’t start…all dead. Towed to dealership, $300 replaced the 12 volt battery. Fusion Hybrid 2014 with 110,000 miles, I’d say it was due!
The battery model number that is listed in the Owner's Manual is the one for the non-hybrid Fusion. It will not fit in a hybrid. Someone did a poor job on the cut and paste to create the hybrid version of the manual. Edited February 5, 2015 by murphy
on a Autel MS 808 scanner there is a function for battery-with it plugged in and matched to the vin, you go into battery rebalance (battery has to be between 60 and 104 degrees I think) you have to run the car at idle while the computer rebalances the batteries-it takes about 45 minutes, and I sat through three different Hybrid Fords doing this before I changed the year to '1' using Forscan ...

I give up. I can't find the threads on battery regeneration I remember reading about a while ago. Nothing on a Google search either. There is a mention (thats it) about regen in the brief guide that comes with the car. Nothing I can find in the instruction manual. My car was fully warmed up, Ther...
Thought I would share. I have read so much here on 12 battery and hvb relationship. This issue has happened two times since purchasing my 2011 ffh in 2014. In summer of 2019 issues started on hot days. While running the ac. Then shutting car off after driving home for work or short errands. 30 mi...
