Yeah, I one shot 3 bosses in a row within 30 seconds (empress, queen slime and lunatic), then finished the event with Betsy one shot :) you can check the full hardmode video with detailed guide in my comment above - that was the most satisfying thing I ever did in Terraria :)

Empress of light day time is 100% harder than moon lord. If moon lord hit you if you have good gear even if your not warrior class you take MAXIMUM 8 hearth wich you can heal with big health potion, campfire and hearth lantern.

If you’re willing to wait until later in the game to get Terraprisma, Xenoes are also a prime choice. Although they are noticeably less consistent than the Sanguine Staff and spend a lot of time hovering next to Empress, they do zap exactly twice as fast as Sanguines and have no downtime to retarget Empress when she reappears after a dash.
Empress is just a skin and I don’t believe it gives more damage that I remember(but it’s been a while since I made one so it may give some). As was stated, best is to try using the machete that has no repairs and see what it does or you can use it on the next machete that you find.
