Great looking Console Grande! This is a later one, as evidenced by the 4 legs and P-90 pickups. I think this variety was made from early 50s until 55/56. The knobs are replacements, should be gold speed (barrel) knobs. Play it, love it, enjoy it.
Clarinet blends very well with steel so long as clarinet doesn't bounce up into the higher frequency spectrum. Alto and bass clarinet sound especially good with steel - creamy blends in the lower range - particularly nice on ballads and bossas. Similarly, tenor sax goes very well with steel - including bop heads.

Posted 16 Apr 2022 8:19 pm. Stan was a family friend and my first pedal steel teacher. A good guy, a great teacher, and an even better musician. He will be missed! Most people that knew Stan knew him as a blues player, but he loved (and loved playing) just about anything—especially classic country and jazz.

Being the only 9 pedal 5KL guitar that I built in '01, I would say that this guitar was built for my good friend, the late Larry Petree.

Topic: Here We Go Again! With my old steels I had a pretty good handle on pedals and knees. I could play a simple I, IV, V swing, or a slow ballad. With the new guy, not so much. Some of you know about the split tuning problem. WELL, before I came crying again to you, I did some "mapping" of my guitar.
