It identified 114 neighborhoods within the City of Los Angeles and 42 unincorporated areas where the statistics were merged with those of adjacent cities. [1]
The Three States area may have been developed during an oil boom in the early 1920s. County maps from the next decade showed homes and businesses scattered along the highway.
