Obstruction Pass State Park is a public recreation area occupying 76 acres (31 ha) one mile southeast of Olga at the southern end of Orcas Island in San Juan County, Washington. Park activities include picnicking, fishing, crabbing, beachcombing, bird watching, and hiking on a zero-point-six-mile (0.97 km) trail.
With an area of 57.3 square miles (148 km 2) and a population of 6000 [4] (2020 census), Orcas Island is slightly larger, but less populous, than neighboring San Juan Island. It is shaped like a pair of saddlebags, separated by fjord -like Eastsound, and two prominent bays, Westsound and Deer Harbor, on the southwest side.

Due to poor health, Moran moved to Orcas Island and between 1906 and 1909 built his estate. [1] Wood and stone material found on the island were used to construct the estate's houses and buildings.
