Here are the steps that I have taken from your fix suggestions. 1/ My PowerPoint version is 1908 (build 11929.20708 Click to run). Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus. 2/ Only the one specific presentation has the issue. The older presentations opens fine as does a new presentation. 3/ Same as above for online.
I am using office 365, PowerPoint 2016 on a Windows 10 Desktop. I have a blank slide on which I've placed multiple pictures. I followed the directions on the Microsoft web page and used the "control click" option to select all the pictures and then insert them in the slide.
It might be cropped. Double click on the picture with the left mouse button and see if the crop icon appears in the top ribbon. Otherwise click on the picture to select it, this will launch the picture tools tab, click format and to the left in the adjustments group click the drop down arrow on the reset icon and select reset picture and size.
Select your picture, on the contextual tab format, in the picture style group, click picture shape button, choose the rounded rectangle. Adjust the rounded corner by using the little yellow diamond shaped that appears. Off course you can use the picture styles on the same format contextual tab also , some rounded corners there.
I have included 2 screen captures that a colleague has sent -- she is the end user and she feels that the type is blurry when the slide is viewed on a small laptop screen. NOTE: the images are high resolution jpegs, inserted properly with the compression settings not resizing. When you zoom in 300% the letters are crisp.

We can add images to table in Microsoft Word. It works simple as. - Clicking the image. - Doing Ctrl+C. - Clicking the desired cell in Word table. - Doing Ctrl+V. the images diplay fine in word. I started this PowerPoint presentation months ago and every month I add new images to it and present it. The newer slides I’ve added with the images are fine but all of the old images from previous months are now showing that they cannot be displayed and there is a acts and some verbiage next to the acts.
You mentioned that PowerPoint Compress Pictures feature doesn’t work. I would like to suggest you check the options in the PowerPoint -> Options-> Advanced-> Image Size and Quality, make sure that Do not compress images in file option is not selected. Hello Ajil. I think that PowerPoint has a little problem, low quality when 'save as picture'. As I answered your question, You should use the paste special and then 'save as picture' that image. The other solution, First you should resize the image by other tool (ex. https://squoosh.app/) and then use 'save as picture'. Juno Bea.
