The Standard Catalog of World Paper Money was a well-known catalogue of banknotes that was published by Krause Publications in three volumes. These catalogues are commonly known in the numismatic trade as the Pick catalogues, as the numbering system was originally compiled by Albert Pick, but are also referred to as "Krause" or "SCWPM".
A paper money catalog or banknote catalog (or catalogue) is a catalog of banknotes and articles relating to notable examples. The catalog is an essential tool of collecting as it provides information about the articles that many times cannot be extracted from them directly, such as the number of printed banknotes.

The U.S. government decided to substitute paper currency of denominations under a dollar for coins in order to solve the problem. The denominations issued were 3¢, 5¢, 10¢, 15¢, 25¢ and 50¢. There were five issues of fractional currency.
The SNL was an inventory system used from 1928 to 1958 to catalog all the items the Army's Ordnance Corps issued. The AIC was used by the United States Army Ordnance Corps from January, 1942 to 1958. It listed munitions and explosives (items from SNLs P, R, S, and T), items that were considered priority issue for soldiers in combat.
In the paper money collecting community, the company is known for its paper money catalogs. In 1975, the first edition of the seminal Standard Catalog of World Paper Money authored by Albert Pick was published. Its numbering system, the Pick numbers, is widely used to identify banknotes. [5]

Albert Pick (15 May 1922 – 22 November 2015) was a German numismatist.An internationally acknowledged authority on the subject of paper money, Pick wrote the first modern catalog of banknotes in 1974, and is widely credited with establishing the modern face of banknote collecting.
