In these files, there are a few blocks (symbols in DataCAD speak) that do not read properly in AutoCAD - things like lay in light fixtures and HVAC diffuser symbols. What I'd like to do if possible, is re-create these symbols, and replace the version stored in a folder somewhere on my drive with the new symbol version - named with the same ...

  4. Solved: How to resize objects and blocks and retain or change to...

    forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/how-to-resize-objects-and-blocks-and...

Thanks for your reply. I've attached a copy of the DWG file that I have resized all of the objects, entities, blocks, etc. by a scale factor of 48. I now would like to have the new sizes of all of the entities become a scale factor of 1.00 at the new sizes. Is that not possible or would I have to change each and every individual object and block?

    forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/cannot-explode-an-autocad-block/td-p/8305321

  6. Solved: How to edit multiple blocks - Autodesk Community

    forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/how-to-edit-multiple-blocks/td-p/8148138

I guess many blocks are the same and only have different block-names because an interface from a none AutoCAD CAD-application wrote it that way. In that case it first makes more sense to exchange the block-insertions that are equal to be based on the same block-defintion.

Then invoke command SETBYLAYER. Include the blocks when it is asked in prompt." and it was excepted as possible workaround. PS: 0.01 (worst)and ByLayer(good), bot are limited options, why not ByBlock(best/most variable)? For a specific lineweight and also for ByBlock, if you need to do this for a lot of blocks, you need a 3rd party tool.

  8. Dynamic Blocks Explained - Autodesk Community

    forums.autodesk.com/autodesk/attachments/autodesk/154/14974/1/Dynamic-Blocks...

Creating Blocks in the Block Editor (BEDIT Command) AutoCAD 2006 introduced the Block Editor (BEDIT command). The Block Editor looks and acts like model space, but all of the geometry you create becomes part of the block definition. The Block Editor allows block authors to: • Create new blocks or edit existing blocks

    forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/is-there-a-way-to-allow-all-blocks-to...

Currently all blocks do not allow exploding. I want to change all blocks allowed to explode, but do not want to go into block editor 50 times to change each block. I want to allow exploding for all blocks at once.

  10. Export Revit Family to CAD BLock - Autodesk Community

    forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/export-revit-family-to-cad...

We as electrical draughtsman and engineers use symbols. In Revit these symbols are Generic Annotations which are added as a nested family and only have a visibility in a Plan View. When exported to CAD, Revit creates blocks from the geometry, but Generic Annotations are exported as separate lines. So that's probably your issue.
