The R300 or Kuils River Freeway (also Cape Flats Freeway) is a Regional Route in the Cape Metropole, South Africa that connects Mitchells Plain with the N2, Kuilsrivier, and the N1 between Bellville and Brackenfell. The R300 is a freeway for its entire length; it forms part of the proposed Peninsula Expressway. [1]
The N1 is the major freeway that runs through Bellville, roughly running SW to NE from Cape Town to Paarl, separating Bellville Central from its northern suburbs. The R300 (Kuils River Freeway) in the east of Bellville starts at an interchange with the N1, heading south towards Mitchells Plain.
The route begins at an intersection with the R102 (Voortrekker Road) in Bellville, City of Cape Town. It runs along Durban Road, which soon splits into two one-way roads, the northbound road becoming Willie van Schoor Avenue while the southbound remains Durban Road. It crosses the N1 freeway at exit 23.
