Again, wireshark is your friend here. Use it to perform a gratuitous grab of traffic and sniff for the broadcast frames coming from the UBNT gear. You should see the frames and if you do, then you can definitely narrow it down to a software configuration issue.

I try to run ubnt discovery tool on ubuntu 18.04 lts through this command, java -jar ubnt-discovery-v2.5.1.jar. and the output was : Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassFormatError: Illegal field name "this.super" in class com/OoOO/super/A/o0oO at java.base/java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)

I've done this recently and literally CURSED Ubiquiti for it, especially as the discovery tool in the recent network controller versions doesn't work and still hasn't been fixed. In fairness, i didnt see it for days and days either, and even afterwards, the subsequent Manage button didn't work but it DID find all the Unifi devices on the LAN ...

This "tool" is pretty useless. Hopefully someone more knowlegeable than I am will write "OMG you idiot - you are doing it all wrong - all you have to do is @#$%%^^& to get it to work". I would be grateful for that information. UniFi is great, the management is great, the remote connection is great - the Chrome Discovery Tool - USELESS. Bob Zelin

If you are on windows download Putty. Start a new connection. Enter the IP of your problematic AP with the username ubnt. When prompted enter password ubnt and hit enter. Type set-inform (URL or IP of your controller) and hit enter. See if it shows up in your controller.
