The Rolling Stones heard it on its release and quickly recorded a cover version, which became their first number-one hit in the United Kingdom, in July 1964.

It was the last album to feature guitarist Mick Taylor ; the songwriting and recording of the album's title track had a connection to Taylor's eventual replacement, Ronnie Wood .
