The Minnesota Valley Gas Company began to serve the community in 1941. Trinity Lutheran Church was built in 1947 on the corner of Watonwan and Main Street. The present-day Holy Family Catholic Church was built in 1951, replacing the Humphrey Street Catholic church. [14] In 1954, another school addition was built, which was demolished in 2007.
