Namo Bharat Rapid Rail (also referred to as Vande Metro) is a short-distance service that operates on an inter-city rail network to connect major cities within a distance of around 100–250 km (62–155 mi). [1] [2] RCF Kapurthala, had rolled out the first Basic Unit (4 coaches) of Namo Bharat Rapid Rail in April 2024. [3]
The train was numbered 17429 for Hyderabad to Tirupati journey [3] and 17430 for the return journey. [4] After 1 November 2017, the train has been converted into a superfast train under "Mission Raftaar" scheme of Indian Railways and extended up to Nizamabad with new numbers 12793 for Tirupati to Nizamabad journey and 12794 for the return.

It operates as train number 17621 from Aurangabad to Tirupati and as train number 17622 in the reverse direction, serving the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh. The train covers the distance of 1,160 km (720 mi) in 24 hours 7 mins approximately at a speed of (48 km/h (30 mph)). [2]
The line had previously been serviced by regular trains. The EMU service reduced end-to-end travel time on the line from 2.5 hours to 1.5 hours.
