The Japanese non-vented "fan" heater burns kerosene gas and is known as a gasification type heater. The liquid kerosene fuel is pre-heated via an electric heating element to vaporize the fuel. The resulting gas is collected and forced into the burn chamber where it is ignited and burns with a blue flame, similar to propane.
These heaters can be positioned more conveniently and centralised to affect optimum warm air distribution. By definition unflued low NO x gas heaters are 100% efficient as all heat energy released from the flame is converted to useful heat.
The heater is mounted on slim triangular chrome-plated legs, and has white handles to either side made from stay-cool compression-moulded urea-formaldehyde plastic. [3] The internal components can be easily accessed by the removal of the four set-screws underneath the handles, after which the top grille and back panel simply lift off.
Once the burner lights, the knob is turned further to modulate the flame size. Auto reignition is an elegant refinement: the user need not know or understand the wait-then-turn sequence. They simply turn the burner knob to the desired flame size and the sparking is turned off automatically when the flame lights.
Teclu was able to conclude that changing the position of the flame in a vertical tube can effect the splitting of the flame and optimize the heat produced by the flame. As a result of this alteration, this burner compared with the Bunsen burner is able to produce higher flame temperatures: around 2,900 °F (1,600 °C; 1,850 K).
A gas heater is a space heater used to heat a room or outdoor area by burning natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, propane, or butane. Indoor household gas heaters can be broadly categorized in one of two ways: flued or non-flued, or vented and unvented .
