The church hired Landon MacDonald as lead pastor in September of 2022, despite allegations that he abused congregation members at his previous position as executive pastor of the Illinois church his father founded. Landon allegedly verbally abused volunteers and failed to report the abuse of a minor which Illinois pastors are mandated to do by law.

The Toronto Club is a private members' club in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Founded on March 20, 1837, it is the oldest private club in Canada, and third oldest in North America. The clubhouse, located at 107 Wellington Street West (at York Street), was designed by Frank Darling and S. George Curry in 1888 [1] and opened in 1889.
The Rev. Arnold Reimer (1970–1991) helped to relocate the congregation from Avenue Road Church to its present location. In 1973, Avenue Road Church was sold, and 6.2 acres (2.5 ha) of land at the corner of Bayview Avenue and Steeles Avenue in Thornhill was purchased. The first service in the building was held in March 1978.
