Last Days in the Desert is a 2015 American drama film directed and written by Rodrigo García.A variation on the biblical story of the Temptation of Christ, the film stars Ewan McGregor in a dual role of Jesus - referred to in the film as "Yeshua" - and a demon who may or may not be Satan, while Tye Sheridan, Ciarán Hinds and Ayelet Zurer play a family they meet while in the desert.
The screenplay by Albert Torres focuses on a dying man whose religious neighbor insists the water stain on the side wall of his house is an image of Jesus Christ. The film premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and was shown at the Berlin International Film Festival before going into limited release in the US on August 15.

The seven meditations on the Last Words are excerpted from all four gospels. The "Earthquake" movement derives from Matthew 27:51ff. Much of the work is consolatory, but the "Earthquake" brings a contrasting element of supernatural intervention—the orchestra is asked to play presto e con tutta la forza—and closes with the only fortississimo (triple forte) in the piece.
