When i quit GTA V in the pause menu, the game shuts down but steam still thinks it's running, which means that I can't start it again and also it makes it look like ive played a ridiulous number of hours. The only fix I have is to close the social club ui's in task manager (or restart my computer), which is a pain to do every time. There must be a better way. What am I doing wrong?
A failed install/start for whatever reason is creating the loop. A functioning install = start gtav from steam, opens a black window for 5-10 sec (not the old white one) and then gtav starts. I'll make a video later if someone hasn't -.-As for starting straight from the launcher for the steam version, I wouldn't bother.

Maybe even Windows, I'm not sure.

SOLUTION: Just always run the launcher as an admin, run GTA V from the launcher, and don't ...

Rightclick gtav in steam, properties, local files tab, browse local files. It should be 'there' (turn on file extensions if necessary, view hidden/system files, etc). If it isn't there, and you've conveniently left out other details of the story... like why you need it, if you are using mods, what you are trying to do, etc. /shrug
When I Click PLAY It Changes To STOP And Says That The Game Is Running, And Then Automatically Opens Rockstar Launcher In The Rockstar Launcher It Still Says PLAY ON STEAM As If The Game Hasn't Been Launched Yet. Fixes I've Tried: 1. Clear Download Cache On Steam 2. Restart My Pc 3. Run Both Steam And Rockstar Launcher As Administrator Then Click Play 4. Reinstalling Rockstar Launcher+social ...
