Los Angeles General Medical Center (also known as LA General and formerly known as Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center, County/USC, County General or by the abbreviation LAC+USC) is a 600-bed public teaching hospital located at 2051 Marengo Street in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, and one of the largest academic medical centers in the United States.
The medical school grew to nearly 400 medical students, more than 700 interns and residents, and almost 200 master's and doctorate candidates. A partnership was formed with the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in 1966 to train medical students with the goal of meeting the needs of the underserved in South Los Angeles.
Affiliation with the UCLA School of Dentistry was established in 1972. [5] On September 1, 1978, the name of the hospital changed officially to Los Angeles County Harbor–UCLA Medical Center in order to draw attention to its working relationship with the UCLA School of Medicine. [6]

Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) is a teaching hospital in California's Inland Empire region. Opened in 1905, it is a level 1 trauma center and is staffed by nearly 900 faculty physicians and over 1,000 beds. The main tower of the center was built in 1967 and is 9 stories high.
