This is a valid point. The title should be changed to more accurately reflect what the list is. This is a list of states/polities in the year 1. This is not a list of current countries and what the population of their territory was in that year (i.e. the population of Germany (1871 borders) in the year 1). Though there is a lot of information on that subject, it is not the purpose of this list.
