I was recently given and failed a PT test a week off of coming off a profile for an ankle injury and was told this is not in accordance with Army Regulations and that I should file a complaint with the IG. However, before I go off making a fool of myself, I'd like to verify. The latest version of FM 7-22 that I can find, is from 2013. And I did find where it says that. Is there a newer FM 7-22?
Being part of the era of both 21-20 and 7-22 PT, both have their pros and cons to it. I think that 21-20 PT was more geared around and has the ability to be more effective in APFT results than 7-22 PT. I also think that PT should be conducted at the discretion of the unit leadership - based on the conditioning of the Soldiers in that unit. If this was done, PT would be more appreciated by all.
BLUF: Per FM 7-22, PRT Preparation and Recovery Drills are part of administering the APFT, due to FM 7-22 seeming to ambiguously state so. However, they are not listed as an invalidating factor if skipped; unlike the APFT exceeding 2-hours from start to finish.
Field Manual 7-22 is just that, a field manual, that spells out Army doctrine for its PT program. In every other FM doctrine standardizes how the Army does business, but its EXPECTED that we will adapt and modify it to complete the mission. PRT on the other hand is lockstep, we will do prep drills in this exact manner and speed being an example
According to FM 7-22: The UFR elicits intangible rewards gained from running with a group, such as esprit de corps, team building, and discipline. Unit formation runs are based on a time and/or distance that can be achieved with unit integrity and a display of unit cohesion. Unit formation runs are organized by squad, platoon, company, or battalion; not by ability. Keeping a large unit in step ...
What section is FM 7-22 addresses when you can conduct special conditioning?: I can’t seem to get on to armypubs at the moment and am having difficulty finding this FM by other means at the moment. I was directed that soldiers who failed their pt test will do remedial PT after work via team leaders.
Howdy folks, I need some guidance. I’ve looked up in AR 600-8-19, FM 7-22 and AR 350-1 about grading a PT test with those who have permenant profiles for alternate events, and I am familiar with how the average scoring works, but my question is this: If a soldier is on a permanent no push-up, no sit-up, 2.5 mike walk profile his/her score is 180 on paper if they receive a GO for the walk ...
What are the alternate Preparatory Drills?: Ive been reading through FM 7-22 and i cannot find any kind of alternate prep drills for profiles. i recently tore my ACL and meniscus and im trying to keep my injury healthy but at the same time maintaining my PT
No where in FM 7-22 does it state what grade of NCO can administer/grade an APFT. Now, it seems to me that if you have a lower ranking NCO administer/grade your APFT, then the Chain of Command always has a little fit. Now if NCO's can grade and officer, why can't (let's say) a corporal grade somebody with more rank? Most of us were sent to the promotion board or promoted to Corporal instead of ...
