Robert Grubb (born 31 January 1950 [2]) is an Australian actor. He studied acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), where he graduated [3] in 1978. There he was a fellow student of actor Mel Gibson. [4] Grubb played the role of Dr. Geoffrey Standish in the popular series The Flying Doctors.
The Flying Doctors: The Inside Story was written by Australian journalist James Oram. The Flying Doctors was successfully broadcast in the UK. The original 1985 3-part mini-series was aired three times on Channel 4; first in 1985, a repeat the following year from 30 May 1986 at 10:25. A third repeat aired in 1988.
The Flying Doctors aired until 6 October 1992. [3] In January 1993, the series was renamed R.F.D.S. (The Royal Flying Doctor Service) and revamped with new characters and a new setting. [4] This season has been included as season 10 on steaming services and in Crawford Productions' official DVD release.
