For all your non-kart building and planning. Let's see what else you're up to!
Going to build one of these. Current parts bought 2500lb atv winch from harbor freight. 54.99 plus tax. (59.62)
Why not just buy or build a cheap utility trailer. A tow dolly is not the thing you want for a buggy the little bearings and tires can’t take the speeds. I used to build my own trailers. Everything from tilt deck snowmobile to a custom 6 kart golf kart hauler. And tilting bed trucks also.
I looked into buying a cart and a reasonable one is $5000 where I live. Jacked up knobby tires ones are usually $8000. I noticed some people had two, one to carry chairs to the waterfront, and one to carry the family. I thought I could build one hell of a motorized picnic table for 5G's. I'm here looking for advice on drivetrain setup.
Feb 18, 2018. #15. chainsaw to bicycle is not too difficult in fact, a second sprocket (you can find one on motorized bike shops) that bolts to the left side of the rear wheel (to the spokes) a pannier rack to bolt the engine to, a gas tank and a throttle handle (from a moped) and some fiddling of course.
These are completely free go kart plans — we are not in the business of selling plans and information. We do not publish "by-the-numbers" CAD plans; we hope that you'll find your personal design from our road map. The only limiting factor to your designs is yourself — if you can dream it, you can build it. Materials for karts are varied.
The romans built massive seriously destructive weapons of war out of wood, as well as chariots that took serious abuse. The wagons that carried everyone to frontier were made of wood. Half the Model A was wood. Stuff can be built with wood if you really want to (probably not well from a pallet in raw form).
A pile of parts that need a home. Well, I came across this from a local guy that apparently has collected and restored many Carl Heald projects - the main "spine" and rear power framework from a 70-80's Carl Heals Super Trike. They already run the Peerless 100 diff axle with dual disc brakes and use the common 2 bolt flange axle bearing I have ...
In the end, wheelsize is also an important factor of gear reduction! So you can't just say it weighs X therefor the gearing must by Y. when in fact the chain ratio is NOT the overall ratio, overall ratio includes wheel diameters. if you wanna play around with numbers.. check app.kartcalc.net.
5. Location. The Nation's Catbox...er, AZ. Aug 18, 2008. #11. It just looks like a modified bike frame, or like a hot-dog kart chassis. Gotta be pretty unstable. A friend threw a B/S 3hp on a "Little Old Lady's" trike/bicycle (20" wheels) and that has to be the scariest thing I've ridden.
