I am using online 365 Word, and opened a customizable resume template; however, I cannot find out how to edit it. It keeps wanting to place each table on a separate page so my resume ends up being 3 pages. I need to edit it down to one page.
As an applicant I am looking for Word resume templates formatted for ATS systems. I am not trying to implement one. Just trying to create an updated Resume that will actually make it through and ATS system. and be viewed be an HR recruiter so I can become employed. When using the Word resume template, I keep making errors and can't 'go back.' If I backspace too far, I remove the bullet I need and can't put one back in. When I type in the box opposite Summary, my paragraph shows up above the word 'Summary' Because of this I can't use the template, because I can't fix these things.
Even if it were, you cannot customize a Font Scheme or a Color Scheme in Word. You can only pick from the ones provided by the built-in Themes. Trying to effectively use Themes after breaking the connection is an exercise in futility.

It's a real pain. When you choose to download a copy to Word, Excel, etc., go to your Office templates folder and save it as a template (using the template extension) instead of a document. That way the next time you need it, you should be able to select it from File>New>My Templates.
