I track my personal finances closely, so I actually have an exact figure for this. I live in a high cost-of-living area. I have one dog who is spoiled rotten. Initial cost: $3,200 - I paid $400 for my rescue, and it included initial shots and microchip. (It was supposed to include a spay, but my dog had had puppies and had to wait to get the ...

This scared me, and thank you for sharing. My dog has been having pain but was getting better on gabapentin and metacam and rest. Last week the vet recommended librella for longer term impact. He's a different dog now. Really slow, unhappy, has begun to have difficulty holding himself up properly on his front legs.

She needed new brushes, new clippers, tags, etc. All the little stuff adds up eventually. She does not get professionally groomed, but my last dog did and that cost about $100 every 6 weeks. She's also a few minor medical issues that needed treatment, so that ended up costing a few hundred dollars as well (we have a per-condition deductible).

In regards to abuse, one of the reasons that I dislike sending your dog away for training is because it's hard to tell what kind of tactics they use. In addition, I feel as if training should be a bond between an owner and their dog. An in person trainer isn't quite there to train the dog as much as they are there to train the human.

  7. About how much does your dog cost you? : r/Seattle - Reddit

Housing opportunity cost: owning a dog (especially a dog larger than 20 lbs) will severely limit rentals, especially if it is a breed like a Doberman. This means that if you are a renter you will have very few places to choose from, which means more hassle as well as (generally) paying more since you have fewer options.

  8. How much do you spend on your dog a month? : r/dogs - Reddit

Or when there is a low cost ok option vs a high cost better option, I will always opt for the better option and not worry about cost when I have insurance. When it's 2am on a weekend and I can't tell if my dog is having an emergency or not, I'm on the fence and think "well maybe I should just wait for Monday and not pay the crazy emergency fees".

Yeah, no too expensive. I live in Greenhills in TN, which is the most expensive neighborhood in Nashville. My dog cost around 450$. Was supposed to about 520$ because my dog was born with a hernia. However the price went down after the vet was unable to locate the hernia and that the surgery would’ve been unnecessary anyways since it was so ...

  11. How much does keeping a dog cost? : r/TwoXIndia - Reddit

Home made food may cost you ₹400 per month Good quality dry food costs from ₹700-1500 per 3-5kgs I’m adding ‘good quality’ because dry food like pedigree is really unhealthy for your dog (will cause a lot of hair fall and long term health issues) Homemade food will cost much less than all this for sure.
