Thanks, Fzjacobs. Solved by L.Maas. Go to Solution. 10-28-2013 12:34 AM. On the tab "manage" you will find in the group "settings" an icon named "project units". Modify the settings for lengths (and other units) to your neeeds. Louis.
Once your model is scaled, go to a Dimension Style Manager (DIM command), select the style you want to adjust and modify the scale in FIT. If you change the value from 1 to 10, it will get 10 times larger (general scaling) or vice versa, which saves you from having to edit the value of each part individually. Regards, Johanna Esteban.
04-30-2012 06:40 AM. You need to do both - change the System Units to "1 unit = 1mm" AND use the Rescale World utility (set to "scene", with a factor of 1000). Whatever you do don't Scale the objects (with the Scale tool) - it can cause any number of problems if you do. It shouldn't mess with either the UVs or the meshes - if any objects have ...
No need to redo the drawing. Assuming that you are using AutoCAD Architecture, type UNITS at the command line and press the ENTER key. The Drawing Setup dialog will open, with the Units tab current. Use the Drawing Units drop-down list to change the Drawing Units from Millimeters to Meters. Select the OK button to ratify the change.
12-23-2022 10:44 AM. What it's showing you is drawing units, which obviously represent millimeters. If you want the drawing unit to represent a meter, you should scale the whole drawing down by 1/1000. I suspect that the Dimension Style used to draw those Dimensions has a measurement scale factor of 0.001 applied, so that the numbers come out ...
This article should help: How to change units in Fusion 360. STLs are unitless, so whatever unit you export them with, the file will use that raw value as the size. For example, if you export using inches and your part is 1 inchx1 inch, when imported into a slicer that uses mm (most do), your file will appear as 1mmx1mm.
05-21-2021 02:59 PM. In Inventor 2021 in the Assembly or Part Environment; Go to: (Tools); Application Options; File; Configure default template; Measurement Unit-Default. The change the template from inches to mm. In addition change: Drawing Standard-Default to ISO (International Organization for Standardization)
If you set a scale of 1:200 and you set the desired plot unites to mm below that, then 1 mm will plot as 200 mm and the units says "200" because that is the scale you set. If you say "Custom" in the scale, then set 1 & mm below that, then 200 below that at "Units", that would be exactly the same as plotting 1:200 for a specified scale.
Back to Idea Board. Anonymous 09-09-2013 10:41 AM Accepted. MM = mm / IN = in (Dimensions) Most of the time when I'm drawing, my cap lock are on. When I type in units in uppercase Inventor doesn't recognize that MM is mm, or IN is in. I want Inventor to apply the units - proper case or not. in.
One exception is if you use Save As STL then select Sent To 3d Print Utility, these always export as mm. There was a bug a while back that ment after using the Send To 3d Print Utility option Fusion would get confused if the next export you uncheck that option and you'd end up with some odd scale. Mark.
