Episcopal is a lot like Woodberry in many ways -- not terribly intellectual, interested in producing Southerners -- but of course with the big difference that it's co-ed. Have met a lot of grads/parents who love it -- it just doesn't sound like what you're looking for based on your concerns about Woodberry Forest.

Would Woodberry be a good fit for a very smart boy that wants to have a balanced high school environment? Strategically, I think it would be easier to "stand out" at Woodberry for college admissions purposes rather than going to a well-known New England boarding school such as Andover, Choate, Exeter, etc.
Admission representatives from 80 secondary schools (independent, day, and boarding) will be at Norwood School this Thursday between 6 and 8pm, and ready to answer questions from prospective families. Georgetown Visitation is the "sister school" of Gonzaga. Students of the two schools frequently attend each other's dances and athletic events and participate in school dramatic and choral productions.
