Use Homebridge for Tesla, Homeconnect for Bosch, LaMetric plug-in, My-Q for garage door, Homebridge to TPLink for a couple of older smart outlets, and finally Homebridge to Unifi to bring my Unbiquiti Cameras in. Runs flawlessly. I have over 100 smart “things” in the house from all over and it runs smoothly.
I originally installed Homebridge just for Ring Floodlight integration, and it's been solid. But I use the Ring app for notifications on my phone and disable the Home notifications, because it's a shorter path for me to get motion alerts on my phone, and I don't want double alerts.
Thanks for this, helped me solve my problem as well! For others who may encounter this, in Settings for the Homebridge Ring plugin, under Optional Configuration addition to enabling "Unbridge Cameras", you will also need to temporarily enable "Debug Logging".
I run it on a Raspberry Pi Zero W (first gen) on wifi. 1 plugin with 6 basic devices. Installed with the Homebridge Raspberry Pi Image. It is very responsive in everyday use: basically instant. Takes 10-30 min to run apt update and apt full-upgrade every once in a while (I also have unattended upgrades enabled). 15 USD with the case. 1 Watt.
I use Homebridge with a Hubitat plugin and have all my z wave devices in HomeKit. Personally I think Hubitat is better than HomeAssistant, but it must be a personal preference because many people are suggesting HomeAssistant.
