The Ponderosa Ranch was a theme park based on the television western Bonanza, which housed the land, timber and livestock-rich Cartwright family. The amusement park operated in Incline Village , Nevada , near Lake Tahoe , from 1968 until 2004.
State Route 431 (SR 431), commonly known as the Mount Rose Highway, is a 24.413-mile-long (39.289 km) highway in Washoe County, Nevada, that connects Incline Village at Lake Tahoe with Reno. The highway, a Nevada Scenic Byway, takes its name from Mount Rose, which lies just off the highway. Prior to 1976, the highway existed as State Route 27.

In 1935, George Whittell Jr. purchased the 27 miles of Lake Tahoe shoreline and nearly 40,000 acres from Norman Biltz. Incline Creek is a 5.2-mile (8.4 km) southward-flowing stream originating in the Carson Range, Sierra Nevada in the northeast Lake Tahoe Basin in Washoe County in western Nevada. Incline Creek flows through the Diamond Peak Ski Area on the way to Incline Village where it empties into Lake Tahoe .
The resort is located about twenty-five miles south south-west (40 km) of Reno, Nevada, making it the closest resort to the city.Mount Rose is also about 11 miles (18 km) from Incline Village, Nevada (North Lake Tahoe), making it accessible to those traveling from Reno and Lake Tahoe.
Along with Paul Cheney, Peterson was a treating physician at Incline Village during an outbreak of ME/CFS that began in 1984 in the Lake Tahoe region. [5] From 1984 to 1987, the illness was recorded in 259 patients in the area by the two physicians. The Lake Tahoe outbreak became the subject of several studies by Peterson and others.
Incline High School is located in Incline Village, Nevada near Lake Tahoe. [4] It is accredited by the Northwest Association of Secondary and Higher Schools. [5] [6] It is part of the Washoe County School District. They also have multiple championship-winning sports teams called the “Highlanders”.
