Ping, Inc. (stylized as PING) is an American sports equipment manufacturing company based in Phoenix, Arizona. It focuses on golf equipment , producing golf clubs and golf bags . The company was founded by Karsten Solheim , following a career as an engineer at the General Electric company.

Karsten Solheim (September 15, 1911 – February 16, 2000) was a Norwegian golf club designer and businessman. He founded Karsten Manufacturing, a golf club maker better known by the name of PING, and the Solheim Cup, the premier international team competition in women's golf. [3]

[3] In the 1930s until the 1950s the most widespread use of golf carts was for those with disabilities who could not walk far.
