Taughannock Falls State Park is located in Ulysses. Ulysses is a town located in northwest Tompkins County, New York, U.S. The population was 4,940 at the 2020 census. [2] The town was named after the hero of the Odyssey.
About 60 small farms are located in the greater Ithaca/Trumansburg area, [62] including a number of research farms managed by the Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station. [63] Cornell's Dairy Research Facility is a center of research and support for New York's large and growing milk and yogurt industries.
Taughannock Falls' main cataract is a 215-foot drop (66 m), [2] making it 33 feet (10 m) taller than Niagara Falls. It is the tallest single-drop waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains . [ 3 ] [ 4 ] The waterfall is located along the creek, which flows through a long gorge with cliffs up to 400 feet (120 m) high.
