International Market Place is an open-air shopping center located in Waikīkī on the island of O‘ahu. It first opened in 1956 as a commercial, retail and entertainment center. After closing for complete renovation in 2013, the International Market Place reopened on August 25, 2016.
The center, owned by Kamehameha Schools at the time, completed a $100 million renovation in 2007 to include more retailers and restaurants. [2] The center was sold to RHC Property Holding LLC in 2013. [3] The Apple Store at the Royal Hawaiian Center was permanently closed on January 20, 2024. [4]
Opening in November 1954 as Waialae Shopping Center, [1] it was renovated in 1969-1970 [2] by Philip Lyon, Gordon and Company and became known as Kahala Mall. It once included the first F.W. Woolworth Company dime store in Hawaii. [ 3 ]
