Gladiolus 'Priscilla' is a cultivar of Gladiolus (Gladiolus x gandavensis, [1]) which has tri-colored flowers. They have a white ruffled flowers with pink edges, and a soft yellow throat. [ 2 ] The florets (6 - 7 per stem) are arranged on strong and erect spikes adorned by pointed sword-like leaves.
The mostly six to fourteen flowers are set in a spike, each subtended by two green to dark purple flushed bracts, which are usually 4–7½ cm long at the low end and 1½–5 cm at the tip of the spike. The flowers are scarlet red, with some yellow on the inside, and green on the outside, near the base in a fresh flower.
Formal, large gardens of bedding plants, as seen in parks and municipal displays, where whole flower beds are replanted two or three times a year, is a costly and labor-intensive process. Towns and cities are encouraged to produce impressive displays by campaigns such as " Britain in bloom " [ 4 ] or " America in Bloom ". [ 5 ]
