Charm City Kings is a 2020 American drama film directed by Ángel Manuel Soto from a screenplay by Sherman Payne and a story by Chris Boyd, Kirk Sullivan, and Barry Jenkins. It is based on the 2013 documentary 12 O'Clock Boys by Lotfy Nathan. It stars Jahi Di'Allo Winston, Meek Mill, Will Catlett, and Teyonah Parris.
Ángel Manuel Soto was born in Santurce, a neighborhood in San Juan, Puerto Rico.His parents were a car salesman and a flight attendant. During his youth, Soto was involved in soccer, boxing, and music, thus forming the band Los Cheveres, a punk rock group formed in the early 2000’s, on to which inspired some of his later projects.
He appeared in the 2020 film Charm City Kings. In 2021, he could be seen with Kevin Hart, Wesley Snipes, and Billy Zane in Netflix comedy thriller True Story. [1] For that role, he earned an NAACP Image Awards nomination. [5] He appeared in Lovecraft Country. In 2023, he appeared in A.V. Rockwell film A Thousand and One as Lucky. [6] [2]
