In 1998, Wapsie Valley in Fairbank left for the NICL (North Iowa Cedar League). Garnavillo and Guttenberg merged districts, becoming Clayton Ridge in 1999. [ 2 ] North Winneshiek closed its high school upon entering into a whole-grade sharing agreement with Decorah for grades 9–12 in 2002.
Iowa Mr. Basketball (2003) Brooks McKowen is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach of the Peacocks at Upper Iowa University. [ 1] He had a successful career at Wapsie Valley High School in his hometown of Fairbank, Iowa, finishing as the state's all-time scoring leader and winning Iowa Mr. Basketball honors in 2003. [ 2]
