Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore is a five-star deluxe hotel located on Orange Grove Road, off Orchard Road, in Singapore. [ 1 ] Opened on 23 April 1971, the hotel is Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts ' first hotel property. [ 2 ]
Surrounding developments include Camden Medical Centre, Tanglin Mall, JEN by Shangri-La Hotel and various embassies. First announced in August 2012 as part of the Thomson Line (TSL), the station was constructed as part of TEL Phase 3 (TEL 3) with the merger of the TSL and the Eastern Region Line. The station opened on 13 November 2022.
In January 1983, the Shangri-La Hotel, which is situated next to the building, purchased the land on which the building stands for $5.5 million. [5] Plans to move to a new campus in 1985 in Bukit Timah had been made by January 1984. [ 6 ]

The Shangri-La Hotel Singapore was managed by Westin Hotels & Resorts, until Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited was founded in 1979, and management of the Singapore Shangri-La was taken back over from Westin in 1984. However, it would not be until 1991 that Shangri-La assumed control of the rest of the hotels. [6]

[4] [5] In November 2013, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) awarded Contract T208 for the design and construction of Springleaf Station and associated tunnels to Leighton Contractors (Asia) Limited (Singapore Branch) – John Holland Pty Ltd Joint Venture (JV) at S$383 million (US$306.1 million).
