Nordfjorden is the sixth longest fjord in Norway.It flows through the municipalities of Stryn, Gloppen, Stad, Bremanger, and Kinn, and it is the central feature of the entire Nordfjord region which makes up the northern third of the county.
In 2009, the Nordfjord Folk Museum became part of the Museums of Sogn and Fjordane Foundation (Stiftinga Musea i Sogn og Fjordane, MISF), which is the consolidated museum for Sogn and Fjordane. [3] The former owners of the museums have transferred professional, administrative, and financial responsibility to the new museum.
The Nordfjord region covers an area of about 4,295 square kilometres (1,658 sq mi) and is home to a population (2010) of approximately 32,464. [1] The fjord is the sixth longest in Norway stretching 106 kilometres (66 mi) from the island of Husevågøy at the mouth to the village of Loen at the other end.
Most of the valley glaciers in Stryn are originating from the great Jostedal glacier (Jostedalsbreen) between the Nordfjord and Sogn areas. Ramnefjellsfossen, the third highest free-falling waterfall in the world, is located in the municipality. Stryn also has the largest linden forest in Northern Europe.
It is located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. Gloppen is generally subdivided into three areas: Hyen in the west, Gloppen in the center, and Breim in the east. Each of the areas have their own main service centres. Sandane, the administrative centre of the municipality, is the largest with about 2,500 inhabitants.

Loen is a village in Stryn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway.It is located in the inner part of the Nordfjord region, at the easternmost end of the Nordfjorden.Loen is located about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north of the village of Olden and about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) southeast of the municipal center of Stryn.
