Richard Glenn Shaffer (27 July 1934 – 18 July 2012) was a rear admiral in the United States Navy and served as the 28th Chief of the United States Navy Dental Corps. He was the first Navy dentist to command a major military medical command.
Ardoyne Plantation has been in the Shaffer family for six generations. It is currently owned by Lee and Susan Shaffer. Lee is a retired military veteran. They currently reside on the second floor of the house. They moved into the house after the passing of Lee's grandmother, Margaret Krumbhaar Shaffer in 2007 at the age of ninety-three.
Chrisman was born in Coal Hill in Johnson County to Marshall Chrisman Sr. (1892–1955), a coal miner, and the former Elva Lee Faucett (1898–1979). [2] In 1951, he graduated from Coal Hill High School and then briefly attended what is now the University of the Ozarks.
