Dynamic routing allows as many routes as possible to remain valid in response to the change. Systems that do not implement dynamic routing are described as using static routing, where routes through a network are described by fixed paths. A change, such as the loss of a node, or loss of a connection between nodes, is not compensated for.
Static routes are used with and without dynamic Routing protocols and usually share the same routing table as those protocols. [1] Routes require at least two attributes; the destination and the gateway, but may contain additional attributes such as a metric (sometimes called the administrative distance ).
The paths an LSR knows can be defined using explicit hop-by-hop configuration, or are dynamically routed by the Constrained Shortest Path First (CSPF) algorithm, or are configured as a loose route that avoids a particular IP address or that is partly explicit and partly dynamic. In a pure IP network, the shortest path to a destination is chosen ...
Data and information visualization (data viz/vis or info viz/vis) [2] is the practice of designing and creating easy-to-communicate and easy-to-understand graphic or visual representations of a large amount [3] of complex quantitative and qualitative data and information with the help of static, dynamic or interactive visual items.
This glossary of biology terms is a list of definitions of fundamental terms and concepts used in biology, the study of life and of living organisms. It is intended as introductory material for novices; for more specific and technical definitions from sub-disciplines and related fields, see Glossary of cell biology, Glossary of genetics, Glossary of evolutionary biology, Glossary of ecology ...
The meaning of the term SNAT varies by vendor: [19] [20] [21] source NAT is a common expansion and is the counterpart of destination NAT (DNAT). This is used to describe one-to-many NAT; NAT for outgoing connections to public services. stateful NAT is used by Cisco Systems [22] static NAT is used by WatchGuard [23]
In data management, dynamic data or transactional data is information that is periodically updated, meaning it changes asynchronously over time as new information becomes available. The concept is important in data management, [ citation needed ] since the time scale of the data determines how it is processed and stored.
The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network management protocol used on Internet Protocol (IP) networks for automatically assigning IP addresses and other communication parameters to devices connected to the network using a client–server architecture.
