Schiller was founded in 1964 by Walter Leibrecht as a study-abroad program for Americans living in West Germany. In 1967, Schiller International University opened Madrid and Paris international campuses. Students could move around the two campuses. [1]

In 1952 it was acquired by Coloma College of Education (a teacher training establishment), and then from 1978 to 1996 occupied by Schiller International University. In 2003 it became home to Wickham Court Preparatory School. The school closed in 2023. [4]

It was sold the following year, and for the next three decades was the central London campus of Schiller International University. In 2011, Schiller International University moved out of the building and sold it to University of Notre Dame of South Bend, Indiana, USA where it was renovated and converted into dormitories. [10]
