Oak Leaf is located in northern Ellis County and is bordered to the northwest by Ovilla, to the north by Glenn Heights, and to the east by Red Oak. Waxahachie, the county seat, is 11 miles (18 km) to the south, and downtown Dallas is 20 miles (32 km) to the north.
It will continue west through Ovilla and U.S. Highway 67 in Cedar Hill, intersecting at U.S. Highway 287 near Mansfield. It would terminate near the Chisholm Trail Parkway southwest of Fort Worth. The North Central Texas Council of Governments projects that number to grow to 63,329 by the year 2030, [5] as it is on the verge of explosive suburban growth.
