Forest Grove is within the TriMet district, and public transit service is provided by TriMet's bus line 57-TV Highway/Forest Grove, which operates seven days a week. These included the remnants of the Forest Grove branch. [2]
Under the Portland and Western the line is known as the Forest Grove District. [20] In 2010, the line handled one freight movement per week. A study by the Oregon Department of Transportation stated that it was in "poor condition." [21] The last freight movement occurred in 2015, and the Portland and Western filed to abandon in 2023. [22]

It runs from U.S. Route 101 (US 101) in Astoria southeast to Oregon Route 8 (OR 8) in Forest Grove. Between Astoria and the Mist–Clatskanie Highway No. 110 in Mist, it is signed as Oregon Route 202 while the rest is signed as OR 47. A piece of the highway in Astoria, north of the Warrenton–Astoria Highway No. 105, is also US 101 Business.
