Only the first 32 of season one's 60 episodes were remade. It was the final Power Rangers season to air on ABC Kids as Haim Saban re-acquired the franchise from Disney, who took over the rights in 2002. A cover of the song, performed by Noam Kaniel, was used as the show's intro theme from 2011 up to 2014, starting with the 18th season of the franchise, Power Rangers Samurai. A rearrangement of Kaniel's version was used for 2013's Power Rangers Megaforce , revising some lyrics to reflect that season.
The story takes place in the year 2025, 21 years after the events of the previous season and two years after Cosmic Fury when Earth has welcomed alien beings to live peacefully with the human race. However, the peace is short-lived as the planet-conquering Troobian Empire and its leader Emperor Gruumm turns its destructive attention to Earth.
