Napoleon is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Jackson County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population of the CDP was 1,258 at the 2010 census . [ 4 ] It is located within Napoleon Township .
Carl E. Schmidt was a tanner with a successful Detroit business; he was also a close friend and political advisor to Hazen Pingree, who served as both mayor of Detroit and governor of Michigan.
